Pella Screen Door corner

Hi Adrian,
I had someone walk through our Pella screen door and broke a plastic corner part. Having trouble locating a replacement. Included pics and hope you have one or can acquire one and sell it to me. The Color does not matter as it is a corner that is not exposed and blocked by the larger door frame, plus I will paint it anyway.

Any suggestions/tips on getting the old corners out? They seem either glued in or pretty tight. Want to remove them without damaging the door further.

Corners can be very difficult to remove when they have been in place for decades.

Try using a penetrating oil like WD30 and letting it soak in for a few minutes hopefully freeing up the dirt and corrosion.

As well tap around the outside of the corner with a rubber mallet, sometimes the impact can dislodge dirt enough to allow the corner to come out.

Yes I need to purchase 4 corners and they are not available through Pella , maybe some other manufacturers? Anyone have luck finding them?

I had the same issue and this is what I found. My screen door was built in 2012 and it had butt corners. The newer ones have a miter corner, and they no longer make that part, and I looked everywhere to try and find one. I tried to find a 3D printer with CAD/CAM. I found a guy who said set up would be around $50 and then only $5-10 to print the parts. He ended up moving to another state. I then took the part to a metal fab place, and they cut two out of aluminum for $100. I had to take them back for some more trimming, and then when I got them home had to do some more shaving on a table saw. Kind of a PITA, but they worked. If I had to do it over I probably would have just caved and paid $500 for a new one, which is a horrible rip off (my screen is 4 feet wide)

My crazy dog ran through the screen door and broke 3 corners. I don't see any answers where to get them. Pella's customer service and website is totally worthless. Have to call the local distributor and they want to send someone out. IT'S a screen door !!!! And who makes a critical component out of plastic. The rails are wood clad alum. but the corners which have the most stress are plastic....MIT engineering. Anyway enough of a rant is their a answer page on this site or answer to the questions where to get these corners?

I have two very similar broken corners, 1 1/2 inches for the frame insert width and 1/4 inch thick. Let me know if you have replacement parts thanks.

These are the new corners that only Pella has

They used to make their corners out of steel and they would never break

Any chance you could take picture with corner next to an extended measuring tape so I could see how big these corners are

I want to check if they are 1-1/8" wide by 7/16" thick because there might be a chance my standard metal corners will fit

Its a long shot because Pella makes everything special sizes but worth checking
