how to cover gap in screen door with bug strip

Hi,

I'm wondering how to attach the bug strip onto my screen door since the screen has this bump (related to the screen door handle) right in the middle which means I have to cut the bug strip into two so I can have it meet at that protrusion. But then I am left with how to cover this small protruding part.
See attached picture.

Any suggestions?

thanks
Stacey

Bugstrip Position

The bugstrip goes on the opposite side of the screen door so that when the door is closed it seals up against the glass patio door panel that does not slide.

The picture shows the lock for the screen door. This usually has a matching hasp or hook that screwed onto the door jamb

The door jamb should have a fin that sticks out so the screen door can seal up against the jamb without any gaps
