Gap between bug strip and door

by Tanya

Hi, I have a sliding screen door on the outside, and the bug strip is flush to most of my sliding glass door except for a few areas around the door frame and the door glass. I'm finding that big bugs crawl in through these gaps. What can I do to fix it? Since the bug strip is flush to the rest of the door, I don't know that replacing it would help. Would really appreciate any advice you could give, thanks!

When the sliding screen door is completely closed, the bug strip should seal the back of the door from top to bottom

Sometimes you have to trim the bugstrip to fit around the contours of the doors but the seal is never going to be absolutely perfect

There are always gaps underneath the door as well so some bugs will still find their way in. As well, some screen doors fit snugly against the fixed panels so a bug strip is not always needed
