Flush mount handle set problem

Prime Line flush mount handle

Prime Line flush mount handle

I was wondering if you could help identify the model of the attached sliding door handle. The handle broke and I was able to buy a wood handle, but the screws wouldn't fit and when trying to fix, the lock fell off and I couldn't put it back. It's an old model and trying to just replace the handle/lock instead of the entire door. Thanks!

Hi

Thanks for the pictures

Your lock should be this one:

Prime-Line C 1215 Sliding Door Handle Set, 6-5/8 in, Diecast, Chrome, Hook Style, Flush Mount, 1 Set by PRIME-LINE for $13.42 https://amzn.to/3weQRY1 via @amazon

One very common problem with these locks is that over the years the screws have been changed

Sometimes they use #8-24 and sometimes they use #8-32, I always have both kinds on hand in various lengths when I am installing new handles.

A #8-24 has less threads than a #8-32 but dimensionally the two screws look the same. They are just incompatible, you need to get the right screw.

When adding a handle you will need a longer screw to allow for the thickness of the added handle. Sometimes the only way is to cut the screw to length to get it to fit properly

Hope this helps
