Steel screen door with adjustable top & bottom shoes

Good Evening,
Apologies for the delay after the call this morning. It's been a day.
I have an older steel screen door with a thin rail at top and bottom. The size seems to fit perfectly between the larger and smaller commercially available doors, which means neither of them will fit. The distance between the two (top of bottom and bottom of top) is 79" and the rail itself is 1/4" top and bottom. As I understood your directions I should order a door 79.25" high. Am I correct in that? The Measurement on the old door (body) is 77 7/8" x 35 7/8 w/a 5/8" lip on top and bottom on either side of the rollers and a 1/4" lip on either side.

If this is the information necessary to get a proper fit please let me know and I'll order asap. If not, please let me know that and I'll get it dialed in.

I'm still not sure if any of the photos made it to you via text. If you need them to answer my questions, let me know and I'll size them down and retry.

Thank you for your time and help with this.

Will

Thanks your pictures came through in the text you sent me

Yes If you have tracks at the top and bottom the height of the new door should be 79-1/4"

That way it will overlap the the tracks by 1/8" at the top and the bottom.

Most screen doors have to be a little less than 7/16" thick to slide properly without rubbing anything.

The 5/8" thick shoes on the steel adjustable doors are too thick and always rub so much it causes the door to jump off the track
