Acorn patio door lock with key

I am trying to find replacement thumb latch & cylinder lock mechanism because the latch
hook is broken. These are aluminum sliding doors for a home built in 1960. The alum door is approx 1 1/8" thick. The cylinder hole in the door is 3/4" diameter, and the outside of the cylinder trim is approx 7/8" diameter. The cylinder uses a key on the outside and a thumb latch on the inside of the door. The door pull handle is approx 2"w x 5 1/4"h. The L-shaped latch catch on the door jamb is approx 5/8"w x 1 1/4""h.

I believe what you have there is an old Acorn patio door. Yours is special because its the first one i have seen that is keyed on the outside.

Most modern patio door locks use 1/2" diameter lock cylinders, the exact same locks used in filing cabinets and desk drawers.

When I am looking for a special lock cylinder i go to http://www.easykeys.com/

But you will need to pull the cylinder out and get all the dimensions from it because there are dozens and dozens of different cylinders

Prime-Line makes a replacement patio door handle set for the Acorn door. Its Black, their model number C-1260. The Acorn door is special in that it is 1-3/4" thick.

I checked on Amazon but they did not have one listed. They do have similar handles for 1" thick doors but the internal lock centerline work with yours.

Heres a link to the C-1259 1" door version

At least you can see if the locking portion looks the same as what is inside your door. The problem is this one wont be long enough to fit inside your door.
