window with screen won't catch

After a long and cold winter the fresh air finally arrived. I wanted to air out the house and when I opened the window it came down all the way and the screen rolled all the way out. The glass window would not catch. I was able to roll up the screen and close it but need to know how to repair it.

Thanks!

Storm windows usually have a spring loaded bolt on either side called a fix clip.

They are made of pot metal or magnesium alloy and are very brittle so the bolt end often breaks off under the weight of the window.

A good local glass shop should carry fix clips and could repair the window if you can remove it. The window has to come out to change the clips.

There are dozens of different fix clips and I cant tell what you have but its a quick fix once you have the right clip.
